Administrators
Principal Summary
Principals are asked to assist with student and teacher recruitment prior to the end of the school year, allow Classroom SCERTS Intervention project staff to meet with K-2 teachers and support staff, identify a site liaison to communicate with CSI staff, and specify a location for CSI to assess target students. Principals at schools designated as a SCERTS school are asked to release teachers for a 3-day training that will take place at the beginning of the school year.
SCERTS vs AET – the condition process
Conducting a true experimental trial of an intervention requires randomization to a treatment or control group. For CSI, pairs of schools are matched on several demographic variables and then randomization by computer to either Autism Education Training (AET) or SCERTS. The CSI project staff does not have the ability to influence this process in any way.
